Huh
This is a desperate call for help to all of the members of the forum. I've been using FMServer advanced 7 and php on a mac with panther, the things went very easy publishing the base and using php.
But when I upgraded to FMSA8 and tiger on the mac another story began....first I upgraded my mac to tiger ... no problems here , then I uninstall the FMS7 and install FMS8.... since here the personal web sharing was working well...then I installed FMSA8 and the personal web sharing never startup again... I've been reading about httpd.conf file and the only thing I have done in it was uncommenting the php module and load.... but as many of you the problems  of configuration are a tremendous and frustrating waste of time. Is there or anyone could suggest a practical step sequence or the common problems and solutions encountered in this matter?.... This topic could be used to submit any problem and solution related. I feel that the most frustrating thing about it is that the solutions and corrections usually are easier than and faster than any programing or design problem in our developments, but we can't go further with a misconfigured web server. Many of you are expert in other areas as PHP and server administration.... but many of us are just FileMaker "experts" and the help that you can give is invaluable.

Thank you , and I hope you could give some advice....

I had something similar with an old install of FMSA7 that I tried putting FMSA8 onto. Even after uninstalling the old one, FMSA8 refused to play nice with apache. Apache would always balk at loading the .so needed.
Check this: with FMSA8 running, check the activity monitor for all processes. Mine had the Web Publishing component mysteriously running under Rosetta - the guy from FileMaker said that wasn't possible since FMSA8 was universal! So possibly, the old install frobbed it somehow, or maybe it was a somehow "different" copy of the software that I first tried installing?

Anyhow, I used my brand new bought copy of FMSA8 on a clean machine, and it installed and came up flawlessly.

Are you using PPC or Intel procs?
