Sync Times? [Worth 50 Kudos points!]
« on: July 05, 2010, 11:31:42 AM »

I am new to the FMTouch and am trying to Synch a database that is 42 MB to my iPhone. I am unclear if there are issues with the Synch or my time expectations are unreasonable. Any idea of how long this might take? The DB has 18 tables and the synch gets to the second and then just hangs for a very long time. Any input is appreciated!

I'm syncing a 9.7mb database that has two lookup tables one has 13k records and the other has 16k records.

The sync takes about 1.25 minutes.

Does anyone know how to bring FileMaker to the front when syncing? It seems to sync faster when FileMaker is frontmost...

Depends on the # of records really, not so much the raw db size. How many records are in the biggest table?

As for bringing to the front, on the Mac apple script with the tell command and activate will do the trick.

Thanks for the info. The largest table has 9000 files, so that may be why it takes longer. Just not sure how long to expect
