I am trying to setup the Filemaker Two Machine Alternate Configuration: WPE and Database on Database Server Filemaker V 10.0.2.206, OS X 10.5.8 Web Server on separate server OS X 10.5.8. I am choosing the option of No, use my own installation of php since I know it is installed and working on the web server.

I get the Error Message 7: Running out of Memory when trying to connect on my own on pages that used to work and now when trying to create a new site in DW using FMStudio.

When trying to edit the configuration and re-deploy I get "Error Encountered while doing lookup" when I enter the IP of the web server.

Thanks,
Scott

Hi Scott,

It sounds like you might need to reinstall FileMaker Server completely. That error can be tricky to get rid of but it is certainly happening due to a broken deployment. Perhaps an uninstall, restart, install would help.

Michael,

Thanks. I was really hoping that would not be the case, but feared it would be. Yes, this seems to be a very tricky issue. This was working before upgrading Filemaker Server to version 10.0.2.206. I had my own webs and a few FMStudio built webs working in the two machine alternate configuration.

Do you think it could be related to the whole port issue I keep seeing? Is it even worth trying to figure out how to open all of the necessary ports on the server? That too is turning out to be quite tricky. It seems the issue really is that my FM server cannot see my web server. I can ping each server from the other, just can't connect through FMS.

Thanks,
Scott

Update - talked with my boss, we have an extra Xserve that we're going to install FMSA and try to set up the single machine deployment. Wish me luck.
