On some Windows systems, when running USB Bridge users get the error message "The application has failed to start because the application's configuration is incorrect".

This is because USB Bridge requires some VC++ libraries (visual c plus plus) that are not installed on the system. The next version of USB Bridge will come with an installer that will provide those libraries and avoid the error.

If you get this error, please manually install the VC++ 2008 redist libraries. It's a free download from Microsoft. Here are the links for 32 bit and 64 bit systems, pick one as appropriate.

For 32 bit systems: Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)

For 64 bit systems: Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64)

We apologise for the inconvenience.

Cheers,
Barak

Thanks for getting me this far, Barak. I did the download you suggested, for my 32 bit system. Now the USB Bridge opens and shows a connection to the Blackberry when i connect through the USB. However, when I click on Add Database I still get the "connecting..." message continually, and that's it. The first time I tried it it said "connection failed" so I rebooted the Blackberry & reconnected it to the USB and tried again - now I get just the continuous "connecting..." message.

Can you say how your problems were solved.  I am looking at using FM Touch on Blackberry 9500, but now having read this thread I am beginning to think that buying an iPhone will be a cheaper option - less time and hassle to get it to work.
Wish somebody from FMwebSchool would say this is not the case and say how it can be done.
