Just thought I'd start a topic for stringing together updated feature requests.

Things I'd like to see in the next version:

     Function:

            Random

     Scripts:

            Copy
            Paste
            Show All Records
            Sort Records

_FMWS_FMTouch_Close     (To function just like _FMWS_FMTouch_Open but obviously when the database closes versus opens)

     Others:

The ability to set specific settings as part of the _FMWS_FMTouch_Open script.  For example, to be able to set it the database/app to only be viewed vertically.

The ability to use the zoom in, zoom out, and move features typical of the iPhone/iPod Touch in a container field (i.e. - the pinch to zoom out)

The ability to work with the "Maps" application so I don't have to go out to a mapping web site. I realize this may be pushing the abilities a bit but I figured why not, it is a wish list after all.

A couple of more ideas:

What about the ability to switch layouts based on viewer tilting iPhone/iPod between horizontal and vertical?

And above I mentioned being able to control settings such as the vertical view only setting, what about being able to control this on a per layout basis?  That would be even more useful.

Two cool iPhone behaviors I would like to be able to emulate in my files are:
(1) I would like be able to flip through pages (records) with a thumb flick (next & prev) with the peeling back from the corner effect.
(2) I would like to be able to shift from portrait to landscape layouts based on the phone tilt.

You can make a button to go to the first or the last record ....
First - Before - Synch - Next - Last   for example .

I think tilting currently has the expected behavior, i.e. It makes the screen wider.

I'd like to see a button placed in the upper right corner to switch to table view. There is already a button here, called "Details",  to switch back from the Table view. This would make it quicker to toggle back and forth and would make the behavior more consistent.

The user needs to be able to resize and re-order Table columns.  Alphabetical order is pretty lame.

I'd be delighted to see:
option to omit records in find request
sorting by multiple fields
option to find empty fields
option to edit in table view (or list view if that's on it's way)
larger/ adjustable field size in table view (or list view if that's on it's way)
Already a big fan of FMtouch!

It would be great to have

the get(CurrentDate) function and the ability to perform date calculations
script variables
list view
and global fields...

My list (pardon the pun):

LIST VIEW
Summary function
Ability to tell if the user has set up security so the app can respond based on that info (at least I haven't figured it out yet)
Ability to email more than one page of a multi-page pdf created by the email (!!)
The pdf created not fuzzy
Show all records (already mentioned)

An important point about the security Company:

An application can be read and write now with FileMaker
read only with FMTouch.

There is no way to block FMTouch of settings on the phone with a
Code Administrator.

It would be great to have

the get(CurrentDate) function and the ability to perform date calculations

I would love this, too. I have a jobs-tracking database which, on the Mac, flags up jobs as they get close to (and, erm, beyond) the deadline. The calculation is simply based on Deadline [a date field] - Get(CurrentDate).  This is not possible, dynamically, on FMTouch.

I would love if summary fields could be used in calculations...as far as now without the proper reporting ability it is like an half baked pie.
Summary fields (even if just sum) and the aility to compute them  Wink

Id love to be able to perform an script when creating a new record. Not really a feature but Id also love to skin FMTouch whether it be with css or graphics, so I can create a template my own interface - like I do with FileMaker.

Finally, would love the toggle status bar function so I could add or remove the Add Delete button underneath my screens (seeing as I attach scripts to Add;Delete buttons).

I've only had it a couple of days and I've already started converting my solution finishing one module and synce'ed over 7000 records - now the other 8 to go.
